We cannot recommend this as the best use for your Xbox – you know, the one you plan to ditch like dirty dishwater when the 360 beast finally arrives – but we do think it’s very cool in a “you need to get out more” kinda way. Xbox hacking has been popular ever since the console came out years ago. However, this time, it’s been taken to a new level. Apparently this dude took an Xbox and turned it into a solar powered, Internet-controlled R/C car that has a 50-mile radius. The Xbox is running a very clean version of FreeBSD and is controlled via GPRS internet from a Nokia 6310i. It’s even got a Logitech Web-cam built-in so that you can see where it’s going. Very cute. NASA take note! These guys are the future. Why? Because they make DIY technology marvels that work from scrap, not state-of the art scrap made from the finest, most expensive materials that crumble at the first whiff of space dust.
