usb pencil sharpener.JPG Yes, it’s a USB-powered pencil sharpener. I’m not actually sure why it exists but apparently someone noticed a niche in the ‘Pretty Much Useless’ USB peripheral category. Now I’m not saying they were stoned off their tits when this sure-fire commercial thunderbolt struck but, I’m guessing someone, somewhere giggled a lot while drawing up the blueprint on the back of that empty, family-sized Meat Feast pizza box. You can, if you have more Japanese than me, and space for one more useless gadget find out more and actually buy one here. At the least the USB-powered vacuum cleaner was useful.

Seems like a great idea to me, especially if they have a bit of software to go with it that can keep a count of the number of pencils sharpened! Perhaps they could also come up with a USB sellotape dispenser with associated applications that can tell me how much has been used or when I need to order more tape!
