New PDAs from Palm October 12, 2005

With the stench of controversy still hanging over Palm’s decision to opt for the Windows Mobile 5 operating system for some future products, it was all business today as the company took the wraps off two new PDAs. The now boring use of iPod white aside, the Palm Z22 is the company’s first colour organiser to come in at the cheapo end of the scale, around £80 (it’s under £60 in the US, feel the pain). It’s small and light at 96g and is designed for first timers looking to get their lives in order. Next up is the more serious, and expensive, Palm TX, which comes in at £250 and boasts all the kind of gimmickry (Bluettoth, Wi-FI) you’d expect for that dosh. It’s also got a neat trick of being able to rotate images and Web pages from portrait to landscape on its big display.
