A late night out, no matter how fun it is, consistently results in the same things: a headache, a strange kind of never ending hunger, and puffy, tired eyes.

We all know the drill. Nurofen for the headache, some food that contains large amounts of grease and salt, but the eyes are always a dead give away. No matter how well fed and headache free we look, one glance at our eyes, and people automatically say 'Good night last night?' Not that there's anything wrong with that. But sometimes, especially if you have the type of hangover where you can hardly put coherent sentences together, you just don't feel like talking about it.

So disguise yourself, both literally and figuratively. The eyezone massager can sort out your poor eyes, and leave them less puffy, with less dark circles. Even if you're not a party butterfly, the eyezone massager can just help with relaxing your eyes after a long day. It's battery operated, so if the battery runs out of juice, then you could just walk around in the goggles and shelter your eyes all together. That will definitely fool everybody.

psp_itunes_remote-coverbuddy.jpgCoverBuddy is a cute piece of software that makes your PSP somewhat useful. Using your Wi-Fi network, you can access iTunes and control it with your PSP. It’s $20 and works with Mac OS X, though a Windows version is planned. Could be worth the bucks if you are wandering around your house a lot, don’t have SONOS, and spent the cash on a PSP expecting fun things.

If you’ve dreamt of laying down beats on your Treo, listen up: an update to the Palm favorite BeatPad from miniMusic could make handheld musicians very happy indeed. There’s now a built-in instrument that works with many higher-in Palms (including the Treos) so you hear high-quality sounds instead of beeps, and the software now exports your grooves as standard MIDI files that work with your desktop music software. Tap a sick beat on the road, then pop it into a high-quality track at home. A newly-announced $70 bundle includes notation and sequencing, too.

Watch Out Blu-ray, Maxell is Going Holographic November 24, 2005

READ MORE Storage

Maxell_holograph_storage_cartridge.jpgThe war between HD-DVD and Blu-ray continues to chug on endlessly without a true winner. But we say “Screw em”, because Maxell along with InPhase Technologies is coming out with some dope shit using holographics. Using cartridges (read: floppys), the new technology will support up to 1.6TB with data transfers at 120Mbps. Yeah. That’s a lot of storage. You could just go apeshit with Netflix renting every single movie and making a best of Edward Norton collection all on one disk your music, movies, and games all on one disk. It could even replace your hard drive if you think about how fast and big it will be. Don’t expect anything huge before 2007, though. Here’s what the technology is expected to be:

“Holographic recording technology utilizes intersecting signal and reference laser beams to store data in a number of 3D hologram images capable of saving hundreds of data pages in a single location. In principle, laser beams can be moved with no mechanical components, allowing access times of the order of 10 µs, faster than any conventional disk drive will ever be able to randomly access data.”
