What happens when you let design students loose on mobile phone concepts? They get a chance to show off the results of all those late nights on drugs and company’s like Nokia end up with lots of really cheap concept ideas it can rip-off later. I mean fund later.
Nokia sponsored a design event for students at Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design in London and the results are now on show – for free - until Friday at the Air Gallery on Dover St. One of the more practical designs is the Nokia 111 (pictured), which can be sat on a table and swiveled around.
Others use eco-friendly materials and some are suitably outlandish, while others moved beyond design and into feature-sets that incorporated 5G, surveillance technology, friend-proximity alerts and lots more. To see what you might be using in a decade, check out The Future of Mobile Design.
