I’m hoping this is just one of those clerical errors, but judge for yourselves. Sony confirmed a few months back that the UK price of the of the PS3 would be about £425 for the 60GB version. OK, it hurts but suck it up.
Catalogue superstore Freemans however has started listing pre-order PS3 bundles and some really scary prices. Assume, if you will, that you get a bundle with one game, you’d expect to pay another £50 on top – at the most – for the game. That comes to £475, right? Check this out:
PS3 60GB + Sonic the Hedgehog £549
PS3 60GB + MotorStorm £609
PS3 60GB + Resistance: Fall of Man
and Rainbow Six Vegas £669
Shocked? You should be, especially the bit where bundle number two wants you to fork out £120 for Sony’s MotorStorm game. Please let this be some kind of error and not the shape of things to come. – Martin Lynch

Catalogues always have the price for stuff like this really high - You'll get it cheaper online or via stores.
It's just Freeman's! If you look at their 360 bundles, it's £319.99 for a 360 CORE edition + Tomb Raider! Boycott Freeman's!!!!
That's nothing unusual. Catalogue prices have always been horrendously overpriced for consoles, dating back to the Master system. Its just the catalogues way of getting the poorer tech heads amongst us to bleed for our consoles. "If you can't afford to buy one outright at a decent price and you still want it come to us and pay we'll rip you off for the privilge."
At game the price for Sony PlayStation 3 with Resistance: Fall of Man, Call of Duty 3 and Motorstorm is only £554.96 so Freemans looks like an utter ripoff. HMV also do 4gb psp, gangs of war, killzone + the ps3 for £674.99 which is good considering most of the price is the psp.
At Amazon the ps3 PREMIUM 60gb which includes wireless controller is £425. Buy two games and it will be way cheaper than Game or other sites as even if games are £50 it will still be cheaper than the likes of game. And also there will be bundles equalling that it will be cheaper for the games. More majer sites are yet to set there prices but post ifyou get cheaper tham amazon.co.uk or if any prices have changed.
prices have come down, but they're still proper expensive and as if they include hd cables in some of the bundles, I want that bastard as standard.
Ive been looking for some time now for the best places to get the best offers and so far ive found that Blockbusters do the best deals. if anyone finds somewhere better could you let us all know please. Ta.
