ps3 x 3.jpg I almost choked when I saw the Sony statement this morning. Now, after 10 solid minutes of spitting at my screen - brought on by screaming the kind of foul language that sends you straight to Hell - I can inform you, valued and cherished readers, that Sony has SCREWED US ALL AGAIN!

Deep breaths. Deep breaths. Sony has pushed back the launch of the PS3 in Europe until March 2007. Yes, another five months. In a statement, the company said that the US and Japan were still on target for November but that we of the Old World, will have to suck it up and wait until next March.

“The revision of the launch date in the Sony Computer Entertainment Europe territories is caused by the delay in the mass production schedule of the blue laser diode within the Sony Group, thus affecting the timely procurement of key components to be utilised in Playstation 3. The previously announced Playstation 3 shipment forecast of 6 million units globally within the fiscal year ending 2007 is not changed.”

Feel free to send us your thoughts/bile on this. - Martin Lynch

Why can't Sony screw people in the US and Japan for once!

This is ridiculous.. why do we have to suffer? why not US or JP.. oh well least the nintendo WII will have plenty of sales and probably beat the PS3 anyway

I have been waiting a long time for the PS3, but no longer. It's XBOX and Wii for me. If only the rest of the population could be persuaded that Sony is a rip off.

I try not to be a Sony fanboy or an MS hater/lover - my first console was an original PSX and I currently own a PS2, PSP, XBox and XBox 360.

I'll probably get a PS3 a few months after they eventually arrive in the UK, but I won't be in so much of a rush as when the 360 came out. In fact the PS3 is only a probable rather than a certainty as the 360 is looking very promising at the moment, and I'm already playing those next gen games in HD.

Many people in the industry are saying there won't be a noticable difference in game quality between the PS3 and 360 for a couple of years due to the complexity of the PS3. Whilst this will largely be down to the tools that appear in that time, I'd say it's likely considering the MS heritage in tool development.

I'm also glad I went for the 360 option, it means I can play the newest games now rather than sitting on my hands until some time after march berating anyone funding "The Evil Empire".

Yeah, grow up. I don't really care whose name is on the box, I just want the best experience available at a reasonable price.

Martin, you seem to have had the same freak outburst that I had when I also heard the news this morning.

Wierd thing is that my outburst led me to buy a 360! Strange indeed! Sony, get your act together!!

Ha, PS3 is just a 360 with a crappy blu-ray player, but costs so much that you could be a 360 and a Wii for the same price! Sony are going down...

I'm not that fussed really. Nothing about the PS3 has captured my interest. I got an Xbox 360 at launch and love it. I guess come Christmas I'll get a Wii. Come March I won't be getting a PS3.

Stop lying you neek. You're obviously getting it come march. Such a neek.
