HDTV might be here but that doesn't mean people have a single clue about what it's all about. I’m sick of reading stories about morons that went out , bought a HDTV, hooked it up at home and then brought it back after a few days claiming they couldn’t see any leap in picture quality.
To be fair though, the educational side of the HDTV mania has been minimal and confusing, with vendors more interested in flogging units than clearing up the widespread consumer confusion. I mean, how fair was it to be selling HDTVs last year and not telling customers that there was actually no HDTV content? Even now, it's very patchy on the TV side and there are only a handful of Blu-ray and HD DVD movie players - and movies - out there.
So, if you are having problems with your '1080i Vs. 1080p' and about what else you will need to make that HDTV dream come true – pop over to Tom’s Hardware for an easy-to-follow guide to HDTV, as it stands right now.

I wonder how many people went out and bought 'HD-ready' TVs only to find that they're incapable of showing hi-def HD-DVD/Blu-ray content because they have only component and not HDMI/HDCP connectors.
