We managed to catch a glimpse of this a little while back but the one above is a lot more refined and is looking like the final version.

Lucky gits will see it CES 2007 in Las Vegas next month and I’ll be one of them so expect a few more shots and details then. I really like SideShow, not just for the little cool screen on the outside of the lid but because we’ll all be able to access certain features without the hassle of booting up the whole notebook. It will periodically scan for emails and other info without booting up the system and anything new can be viewed on the wee display.

According to PortalPlayer, who made the technology for the Asus W5Fe, it will only add around £30 to the cost a notebook. Obviously, in the UK that will become £100. Who cares – damn useful.-Martin Lynch
