RIAA to AllofMP3: You Owe Us $1.65 Trillion January 3, 2007

Bloodsucking
record labels and their lapdog the RIAA have filed suit in New York
federal court against Russian music downloading site Allof MP3.com,
seeking $1.65 trillion. That's $150,000 for each song that was
downloaded from the site from June to October of last year. The
undaunted AllofMP3.com responds, pretty much saying, "Tough shit,
you're filing a suit in New York and we're in Russia. Nya nya nya nya
nya nya."
Meanwhile, the site is still up and running, gleefully noting that iTunes revenues have decreased by 65% and wishing all a Happy New Year. Beatles songs, DRM-free, for $.17 each? Sounds like a good deal.

ah god bless their little cotton socks
Thats hilarious. How can they justify an amount of 1.6 trillion?! I mean does the whole of Russia as a country even have 1.65 trillion!?
I'm not sure I understand their reasoning that for each download of a song worth $0.99 they should get $150,000. Serves them right for not allowing people to play the song they have paid for on anything but a stupid ipod! Greedy bastards.
I needed a good laugh. As if they have any hope of succeeding. Hoorah for AllOfMP3!
Im sure Russia has that kind of money, Its one of the richest countries in the world. Moscow is the dearest city to live in in the world and Russians pay George Michael to sing for a an hour, they must be bloody rich.
And go allofmp3!!!!
Good on Allofmp3.com - I think.
It's just a pain that Mastercard and Visa already pre-judged Allofmp3.com as GUILTY and cancelled their credit card payment service
but download away if you have a JCB or Diners card
