This video isn't the newest clip on YouTube, but since I'm completely gadgetable obsessed (that word is being trademarked as I speak), we are posting it anyway.
On that note, this table is clearly evil and should be destroyed immediately. –Mark Wilson

Dissolvable Dress: Let It Rain January 21, 2007

When scientists aren't working on curing world hunger/cancer/AIDS, they create dresses that will dissolve in water. The "fabric" is made from polyvinyl alcohol, which will partially dissolve into recyclable (liquid?) material when washed.
During a forthcoming exhibition, up to eight dresses made from these textiles - minus their wearers - will be lowered into enormous goldfish bowls where they will be left to liquefy.
Minus their wearers? I think we're missing the point here. –Mark Wilson

Thieves Swipe 42 iPod nanos, Not Realising Two 80 GB iPods Would've Done the Trick January 21, 2007

A 30-pound Plexiglas display case containing 42 iPod nanos walked out of an Apple Store in Boulder, Colorado, courtesy of either very sneaky shoplifters, snoozing store clerks, or some devious combination of the two.
You'd think someone walking out of an Apple Store carrying a big glass box filled with over £4,000-worth of nanos would be rather conspicuous, but apparently in Boulder people do it all the time, since no one noticed anything suspicious and police have no suspects. So if you see a set of 42 nanos in a "handsome display case" up for sale on eBay this weekend, bid with caution. – Matt Buchanan
P.S. Cobbling together the information given to us and utilising our crack Law and Order skills, we came up with a rendering of the suspect, which you can see on the left, so be on the lookout.

Blu-ray Disc Abused In The Name Of Science January 21, 2007

Anyone remember when CDs arrived and we were told they would last forever and couldn’t be scratched? Exactly.
Sony maintains that its Blu-ray discs are built for a lot of punishment too and someone has decided to video test the theory. The folks at Joystiq decided to take the freebie HD movie bundled with PS3’s – Talladega Nights - The Ballad of Ricky Bobby – and give it a right going over. Personally, I didn’t dislike the movie that much but in the name of science…
That said, while entertaining, I really don’t see most Blu-ray discs taking this much abuse in real life.

Urwerk Hammerhead 201 Watch Just £25,000 January 21, 2007
READ MORE Gadgets , Gizmodo UK
Urwerk make expensive watches. In fact, expensive is almost too cheap a word to describe the kind of tags this company slaps on its luxury timepieces.
Thankfully, Urwerk tend to rely on engineering for its exclusive status, unlike others that think if you throw enough Swarovski crystals at something it will pass for style. Still, would you pay up to £25,000 for this watch?
This is the Hammerhead 201, which boasts telescopic minute hands that move in and out of the three, rotating cubic hour satellites. Each cube has four numbers on it and rotate in time to match the telescopic pointers on the minute hands. Other features include:
A 5 day Power Reserve indicator (left) and Day/Night indicator (right) complete the dial. The Control Board on the back of the 201 features: an Oil Change indicator notifying the owner a service is due; a 100 year plus indicator, the worlds first horological odometer, keeping track of the total time of use for over a 100 years; and Urwerk’s signature Fine Tuning screw allowing the wear to adjust the rate to suit their life style.
Still, £25,000? Anyone? [Thanks to Mitch at Watchismo for the heads up]-Martin Lynch
