PS2s For £50 At Asda - Run! February 22, 2007

ps2 silber2.jpg I kid you not. Leave your desk right now, ignore the calls for frothy lattes and cappuccinos and find your nearest Asda because they are flogging PS2s right now for £50. Hats off to Asda then, considering the supermarket chain recently dragged the cost of DVD players down to a stunningly low £9.

The PS2 is still a big seller for Sony, despite all the PS3 hype, and at £50 I can’t see that changing.

Be warned, these babies at Asda are flying out the door as I type so if you want a cheap second console, run you fool, run!- Martin Lynch

Old technology, rather save up my money for a PS3.

I agree, cant see first time buyers going for it and then shelling out on games, pads that rank up the total cost above £100.

"Old technology, rather save up my money for a PS3."

yeah 'cos £50 makes a huge dent in 400 and odd quid , sheesh.

Actually this might be aimed more at those with more sense than money , unlike those looking to get a PS3 , who turn out having more money than sense !

I think this is a great price and will be buying one for my 4 year old to cut his gaming teeth on !

I'd get one; I had to buy a crappy tiny black PS2 when my beautiful silver one was stolen. I hate it. It's the size of a paperback and it rattles and it's ugly. I want a new silver one WITHOUT feeling like I'm breaking the bank. Perfect!

FYI. It's the black one that Asda are selling, not the silver one, as the photo depicts. I know this to be true as I bought a few.
