If you thought technology was funky and weird now, just give it 10 years, or less, say the South Koreans.
According to a massive report by the South Korean government into what consumers will want from technology in the future, consumers will be getting some very different things indeed. Over 3,500 tech experts were polled and here’s some of the best:
How about the ability to digitise and transfer smells and fragrances to PCs via broadband. You know, like sending your brother a fart in Australia.
By 2012 mobile phones with a two-month battery life between recharges
By 2018 tiny robots that perform surgery from within your bloodstream
Glasses containing numerous 2-D cameras that will allow you to record 3-D footage
By 2015, soldiers will be wearing bulletproof and waterproof gear that can change colours to blend into surroundings.
