Pure Digital already dominates in the DAB radio space, thanks to some good technology and snazzy design.
It’s now working hard to do the same with little hi-fis with an “affordable” addition to its digital audio hi-fi series. This is the Pure DMX-25 DAB Micro System, which is the baby brother to the DMX-60, and around half the price too at £130.
It’s not bad looking but it’s just not all that exciting looking either. I would have preferred some of that retro-chic of the Evoke series. It has a DAB radio tuner that automatically tunes in all available stations, an FM receiver an it can play MP3/ WMA files from Flash-based MP3 players, CDs or SD Cards.
In DAB mode the display offers scrolling information on news, sports results, artist names etc. It can crank out 10Watts RMS per channel from its rosewood effect speakers, which ain’t half bad.-Martin Lynch
