Meet Piano Wizard, which is hoping to do for nice kids what Guitar Hero has done for delinquent, raged-up teens and drunk adults reliving those Rainbow/Deep Purple moments.
Like the aforementioned GH, notes rise vertically up the screen and players have to hit the correct key at the right time. Unlike GH, players are using a real keyboard to play the right notes. So, in addition to making musical practice more fun, the kids get to learn a real instrument too. With so many extra keys, this requires concentration, so you can rule out drunk adults with a yen to play some Bruce Horsnby. Always a good thing.
It might not teach your kids how to frag n’ move like a pro in multiplayer Halo 2 but it might actually help them become more social, musically talented, well-rounded human beings which, apparently, is a good thing. –Martin Lynch
