Yes, it really is that weird. Calvin Klein, makers of the popular CK One fragrance, is hoping to create a perfume that will appeal to the 13-25-year old market segment of technology users.
CK has actually branded them ‘technosexuals’ and believe it or not, has copyrighted the term in case it catches on. The new fragrance is called CK in2u – note the ‘hip and cool’ use of texting language to appeal to the world’s youth. The ads border on promoting young teen sex and here’s what some of the marketing material says:
“She likes how he blogs, her texts turn him on. It’s intense. For right now.”
