quake.jpg We’ve had the feedback joysticks and other rumbling gaming items but on show at the Games Developer Conference 2007 in San Francisco last week was something that wants to raise the feedback bar quite a bit. The ForceWear Vest from TNGames, looks like a bullet-proof vest from any cop show but is designed to make you feel the hits, not keep them out.

It has eight force feedback units front and back which responds to signals from the game you are playing. Take some hits in Quake and the corresponding spots on the vest will react giving you a push of up to 10lbs of pressure. Just make sure your kids don’t use this or you can expect social services ‘round to ask why your little Johnny is black and blue. This is due out in November but there's no price yet and no news on what games will support it.

Wasnt a system similair to this originally brought out on the N64 then withdrawn quite quickly becuase it was causing internal bruising. I personally like the idea (of the vest not the bruising) but as long as im not getting another injury off my gaming ive already got rsi.

The vest now works with COD4, Rainbow Six vegas 2, Mass Effect, FEAR and a bundle of others. The developers are releasing more software (patches) all the time. Great news for PC Gaming fans!!
