It was only a matter of time, really. A Scottish personal trainer has developed an exercise regime based around the Wii console. Zander Urquhart, 32, appears to be the first fitness freak to cash-in on the fact that using the Wii means you have to exercise more than your thumbs.
According to a study from Liverpool John Moores University, a Wii player gaming for an average of 12.2 hours a week burns 1830 calories, or, 27lb per year. Starting with kids, he’s now roped in adults and OAPs.
Still, it beats the carrot juice diet and thin and, if nothing else, healthy gamers would be a novelty.-Martin Lynch

Am I the only one who thought you'd burn off much more than that over a year playing on the Wii. I'd expect to lose that after a few weeks of playing the boxing game for sure.
