Apart from learning to play or just owning one to impress your neighbours, there’s not a lot you can do with a Baby Grand Piano. Unless you’re Gardner Post, which turns them into stunning, if somewhat impractical, audio entertainment monsters.

Forget keys, because there are none. What you get is a full-on music/video entertainment system. There’s a pair of Pioneer DVJ-X1 DVD players, an Edirol V-4 video mixer, 3 Marshal LCD monitors and a slot loading assembly where the keys used to be.

On the audio front, there’s enough muscle to threaten your foundations with an AB 1100 Watt Power Amplifier, an 18in, 12in and dual 15in subwoofers, 3 bullet tweeters and an Allen and Heath Xone 92 Audio Mixer.

Don’t forget the Moog Slip Ring Assembly and 8-foot Rotating turntable. Oh yeah, it’s really shiny too. Prices by invitation only. -Martin Lynch

Multimedia Handbag: Now Bad Taste has a Receptacle April 23, 2007

READ MORE Portable Media

This is Bubble Gear's multimedia handbag, which consists of a "Scrag" (that's what I call a bag-screen hybrid) with built-in MP3 and DVD player. This bag is described as an "attention magnet"—thief magnet, more like—that will have people crowding round you as you sit in the mall watching the Teletubbies DVD bought by your latest boyfriend to keep you quiet on long journeys.

And when you're bored of that, you can either listen to that Pussycat Dolls track that you know all the dance moves to, or set up a slideshow of photos for your newfound friends. "And this is my boyfriend... And this is my brain cell. Nope, just the one... Here are my favorite shoes... And this is the last picture of my mom and dad... no, it's just a back view of the car, they didn't say where they were going, but yeah, they were in a hurry..."

There's a rechargable lithium battery, two sets of headphones, a car charger and a remote control, all included. The bag will cost you $399 and all the self-esteem you ever had. Find out after the jump where true gizmo girls stash their gadgets.

First Review: Lexar ExpressCard SSD April 23, 2007

READ MORE Peripherals

Lexar's ExpressCard solid state drive is an interesting proposition: 4 to 16 gigabytes of non-volatile memory in a slot form factor. That's not only more storage than typical USB flash drives can offer, but more than most based on microdrives can, too. For those with lappies with ExpressCard slots, it would seem like a sweet piece of storage, and even as a cache for Vista's ReadyBoost, since its not hanging off the side of a laptop like a USB thumbdrive would. So what's the catch?

Unfortunately, I found write performance to be a lot lower than I'd have liked.

Feeling Weak? Rent an Exoskeleton. April 23, 2007

Do you have a refrigerator you need to move? An uncooperative roommate who won't get off the couch and get a job? A need to impress the guys down at the gym with your amazing lifting skills, no matter what? Well, good news, wussbag.

Starting next year in Japan, you'll be able to lease an exoskeleton for about $590 a month. Originally designed to help the elderly and infirm walk around when they're too weak to do so themselves, it also works great for getting respect when formerly you got none, and, I assume, doing a totally badass version of the robot on the dance floor. –Adam Frucci

Bush Does Cheap 15in HDTV April 23, 2007

Bush used to be big in TVs, back in the day when they were made of wood and weighed as much as a small cow.

It’s not the popular brand it used to be but it’s still plugging away on the HDTV front. These days it’s all about being ‘pocket-friendly’ and it's new 15in HD Ready TV is certainly not going to break the bank. The display boasts a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and sports a HDMI input

It’s called the LCD15W008HD. Performance concerns aside it’s not a bad looker and what more would you expect for just £170. That’s cheap alright. It might not suit the living room but as cheap second TV for console use, it’s not that daft an option.

There’s also the LCD15W08DVDHD which sports an internal DVD drive due out in a few weeks. -Martin Lynch

Sony Knocks £50 Off The PSP April 23, 2007

psp.jpg The price-cutting starts here. We’ve all been waiting for Sony to slash the price of the PS3 to boost flagging sales but then it pulls a fast one and knocks £50 off the retail price of the PSP instead. It should be noted however, that the PSP is still being outsold by the cheaper Nintendo DS so this price cut is long overdue. Still, the new £130 tag keeps £50 in your pocket and that’s all good.

The move comes as Sony launched five new Platinum tiles: Ridge Racer 2, Tekken, Killzone, Loco Roco, and Moto GP at £15 a pop. Here’s what SCE UK managing director Ray Maguire, said:

“PSP is unique and is constantly evolving. It offers the widest palette of mobile entertainment, from gaming to video, music, photos and internet,” said SCE UK managing director Ray Maguire. “But now the exciting possibility of connecting remotely to PS3 makes PSP more relevant than ever. So what better time to offer a brand new price point, and the launch of five new Platinum titles?”

The new prices kick in on May 4th.-Martin Lynch
