Carpets are so ‘out’ these days in the contemporary living room of sanded floors and tribal wall-hangings but, Panasonic thinks a little reinvention could bring them back into style.

All they really needed was to be transformed from flat floor coverings into electrically charged snakes. Think of this as your next hot water bottle, just 23-feet long and called the ‘No Constraints Carpet’.

Inside the furry worm are heating elements that only come on once you give it a cuddle. It also comes in 5ft lengths for people that don’t have a whole family to keep warm in front of the telly.

No prices or availability yet, but they exist, and that in itself is scary enough.-Martin Lynch

It may be the lighting of the image or just because I'm a wuss but I think Panasonic's hot snakes look ....well scary! I think my carpet shall be staying on the floor for a while to come.
