LaCie started the whole craze for Lego storage devices back in 2005 with the cool, removable HDDs disguised as, well, you guessed it. And now, Aussie outfit Zip Zip , is plugging USB sticks that look like regular-sized Lego bricks.

There is a certain playfulness to the whole IT-disguised-as-Lego that I can’t quite put my finger on but I like it, nonetheless. These little numbers pull apart in the middle to reveal the business end of a 1GB USB stick. OK, when you have Kingston rolling out small, waterproof 4GB USB sticks and Verbatim pushing the boat out to 12GB, this is no great shakes but then, they don’t look like Lego.

Available in black, white, red, yellow, blue and green, they will set you back around £25 a pop.-Martin Lynch

Hori's New Screen Makes 360 Portable June 1, 2007

xboxattach.jpgBack when PennyArcade was first doing its "Xbox Is Large" jokes, no one would have thought that one day Microsoft would have made a semi-portable console of its hulking powerhouse.

And Microsoft still hasn't. But accessory-fashioning technology elves at Hori have gone and made the 360 vaguely portable with a 12-inch LCD screen attachment. The screen offers a 720p resolution and is large enough for you to not have to squint. Of course, it won't be truly portable as you're still going to need somewhere to plug in those 360 power cables.

The screen will be available in Japan in July and it seems there is no word of a release elsewhere just yet. Sit tight.

RealPlayer used to be cool, until iTunes and Windows Media Player made it obsolete. The new RealPlayer is badass for one reason: It can rip net videos, even those on YouTube and from video streams, with a single click.

Impressions With Xbox 360's Guitar Hero 3 Wireless Guitar June 1, 2007

Erik over at IGN Gear got his hands on the upcoming Xbox 360 wireless guitar and has mostly good things to say about it. The controller is shaped like a Les Paul and looks quite similar to the old PS2 controllers. The buttons themselves have been moved around and made to look more like the PS2 version as well, increasing the start and back buttons and moving the guide and D-pad up nearer to the neck.

The new stuff? Interchangeable faceplates, a removable neck and a headset jack. Plus, a second place to attach the strap so it's not so uncomfortable. It's even compatible with Guitar Hero 2, but probably won't make beating Jordan on expert any easier. Head on over for some more shots. – Jason Chen

If you’re the type of person that sneezes when someone says ‘Spring’ then you might want to check out the latest automobile from Ford.

The new Mondeo is being presented as an allergy-friendly car, thanks to the exclusion of certain materials. The car has scooped some independent German award – the TÜV Rhineland group's "Allergy Tested Interior" seal of approval, which means it’s a lot friendlier to watery-eyed sneezers than most. More than 100 materials and components were tested for harmful substances and allergy causing potential, while those components that have direct skin contact were dermatologically tested.

Materials like latex, chrome, and nickel were excluded, as a result. The car also features a high performance pollen filter.-Martin Lynch

Star Wars Chubbies: You Know You Want One June 1, 2007

star_wars_dolls.jpg It’s 30th Anniversary time for the Star Wars franchise and so you can expect a lot of related junk to fill the Net in the coming months. However, few of them are as left field as the Star Wars Chubbies, a sci-fi version of those Russian Babushka dolls.

There are six dolls in all and inside each is a previous/alternate version of the character[s], depicting how they’ve changed. For instance, lift off Darth Vader and you’ll find Hayden Christensen's constipated-looking ‘Anakin’ [remarkably accurate, I think] and within him is the precocious little fecker, Anakin Jnr., who should have died in that desert podrace. You get the idea.

Obi-wan and C3PO do something similar while the Emperor doll is a Sith Special, inside which you will find Count Dooku and the lady killer himself, Darth Maul. Damn weird, I’ll agree, but a bargain at £7.95 each. Darth Vader costs £9.95 though because, well, you know, artificial lungs don’t come cheap. Watch one in action after the jump.-Martin Lynch
