This is the audio version of 'how the other half lives' – well, 0.1% of them, maybe. Here are 10 speaker systems that would test the bank balance of even the best heeled folk.

Top of the heap is the Grand Enigma, installed in the world’s best kept cellar – really – and which costs a mere £500,000 and one that I’ve covered here.

There’s also the liquid sex that is the Ross Lovegrove designed KEF Muons which obviously meant for the poor-rich people at £65,000 a pair.

There are lots of shiny ear-candy on offer here but my faves are probably the giant, organic-looking Sphaeron Excaliburs from Acapella [above]. They cost just £160,000 and need a room that’s a minimum of 40m-square. Who says size isn’t everything?-Martin Lynch
