Meet Grundig’s latest hoover/space craft/blender. No, really, it’s just a very oddly-shaped wireless music system being flogged through Tesco.

Titled the GUSW5000, this outdoor [or indoor] speaker is designed to cope with the crappy UK summer weather since it’s splash-proof . It runs off 8 Size D batteries or mains and claims 20W of RMS sound. It has a 50ft range to the transmitter, which you can hook up to your MP3 player or hi-fi system. It even glows blue in the dark to attract those annoying summer midges.

Selling now for just under £100 as a ‘special offer’ on the Tesco home page but the product page you buy it off still has it listed as almost £150. C’mon Tesco, sort it out.-Martin Lynch

Outdoor, wireless AND solar powered, I know which one I'd pick...and only £100 as well!
