Listen up all you galaxy conquering heavy-breathers, now’s your chance to dress just like the Man In Black himself – no, not Johnny Cash – the mean one, Darth Vader. And the best bit is that you don't need the £50,000 someone recently splashed out on Obi-Wan's costume...er, well blanket, really.

Wear your fanboy status proudly with this very high-spec Darth Vader costume, sporting jumpsuit with faux leather trousers and sleeves, a flaring cape based on Lucas Studio’s original patterns, gauntlets, heavy duty injection-moulded armour pieces and a realistic mask and helmet - all cast from the original Lucas Studio moulds, according to the peeps at Firebox.

It will set you back around £430 but there’s even a breathing apparatus to recreate that lovable chain smoker’s wheeze. You’ll have to get your own lightsaber though.

Jump now to see the specs and watch one unlucky model get transformed into an uber-villain, even if he is a foot or so too short.-Martin Lynch

Xbox 360 Elite
OK, it’s official: the Xbox 360 Elite console arrives on August 24 in the UK, Ireland, France and Germany first, with other countries to follow. There’s no price yet but I predict under – if only just – the £300 mark since Play.com recently slashed the price of the Xbox 360 Premium from £280 to £230. Apart from the shiny new black skin and controllers, you’ll get a 120GB hard disk drive, headset and a HDMI port.

Xbox Live Video Marketplace
Next up is confirmation that video downloads – Xbox Live Video Marketplace - are coming to Europe later this year. No exact date but confirmed for Europe and Canada. In the US, Microsoft said Xboxers have spent $125m (£62m) on Video Marketplace content. There’s currently over 2,000 hours of content, from 28 different studios.

Disney Joins Xbox Live
Lastly, Walt Disney Studios has just signed up to the Xbox Live Video Marketplace allowing Xbox [US] owners to rent movies from all of its studios online as soon as they come. This will include flicks from Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures and Miramax Films.

When your child no longer thinks that Thomas The Tank Engine ‘rocks’ it’s time to get them something that will let them entertain themselves for years to come.

VTech has had this baby on preview for some time but now it’s your chance to buy a multimedia digital camera called the Kidizoom for kids aged 3+. So what’s the big deal? First off, as the name might have indicated, it’s a digital camera with 16Mb of internal memory, an SD Card slot and 1.8in LCD display. No details of resolution though but it can capture video too.

The Kidizoom has a few other tricks up its sleeve though, starting with being ultra-tough and sporting large bumper handles for little hands. There are three in-built games, interchangeable faceplates so that they can personalise it, some simple editing software for distorting photos and a cable for hooking it up to a PC or TV for playback.

Now all that’s left to decide is whether you are comfortable with a bunch of kids popping up in the most embarrassing of places shouting ‘Say Cheese’. Yours for £59 at Toys R Us.-Martin Lynch
