When your child no longer thinks that Thomas The Tank Engine ‘rocks’ it’s time to get them something that will let them entertain themselves for years to come.
VTech has had this baby on preview for some time but now it’s your chance to buy a multimedia digital camera called the Kidizoom for kids aged 3+. So what’s the big deal? First off, as the name might have indicated, it’s a digital camera with 16Mb of internal memory, an SD Card slot and 1.8in LCD display. No details of resolution though but it can capture video too.
The Kidizoom has a few other tricks up its sleeve though, starting with being ultra-tough and sporting large bumper handles for little hands. There are three in-built games, interchangeable faceplates so that they can personalise it, some simple editing software for distorting photos and a cable for hooking it up to a PC or TV for playback.
Now all that’s left to decide is whether you are comfortable with a bunch of kids popping up in the most embarrassing of places shouting ‘Say Cheese’. Yours for £59 at Toys R Us.-Martin Lynch
