E3 2007: No PS3 Price Cut But, Meet The New Bundle July 14, 2007

Sony has confirmed that there is no PS3 price cut looming for us Europeans but it’s hoping to soften the blow by announcing the new PS3 Starter Pack.
This is a new bundle that will kick in from next week (July 18) and for your £425 you will now get a choice of two first-party games and an extra wireless SIXAXIS controller. OK, so the PS3 is still too expensive but at least you now get a bundle worth around £115, compared to the £50 price cut the Yanks got.
The games on offer are Motorstorm, Genji: Days of the Blade, Resistance: Fall of Man [Manchester’s favourite], Formula One Championship Edition and Ridge Racer 7.

That's a lovely kick in the teeth to the loyal fans who bought the standalone console at £425 at launch a mere 3.5 months ago, with games on top at £40 a pop.
Thanks Sony, your arrogance is nothing short of astounding.
I'd've very much prefered the £50 off.
I was coming to believe that Sony were atoning for their past misjudgements and I was actually considering nipping out and buying one. I'm still annoyed that I paid so much for a lacklustre and underused PSP, so now I'll just sack it off for another year or so and buy a new graphics card for my PC and Wii instead.
Neither, I'd prefer an Elite Xbox.
I went into game in winchester and said argos were doing the deal for £399... Whilst they did not match the cash price, they did do it for £399 and gave me £24 on their reward card - darn good deal I thought. Good games, but has great blu ray player...
