While some people may complain that Apple’s iPods are a bit pricey, they should take a look at this one first. Decked out in 18k gold, this shiny beauty used to be a bog standard, white iPod Shuffle until some mad Germans got their hands on it.

A company called Xexoo will be happy to provide you with one too, as long as you can stump up £10,000 for the gold makeover. This isn’t just a paint job though, it’s actually made from gold, comes in a cool, shiny Piano-black box and has 24/7 support – as you’d expect for £10,000.

I don't know about you but this really doesn't appeal. Adding a precious metal into the equation is not a short cut to desirability. Surely it isn't that simple?

They missed the trick of embedding a diamond, mind you - perhaps that's it ;-)

i know there was some guy on Dragons den who had a gold plating kit and went round gold plating everything trust me flowers, vases, car door handle lol it was funny. you can gold plate anything now days ohhh he wasnt german he was from north west london lol
