High-end audio maker KEF is joining Arcam in the rush to grab a slice of the burgeoning market for quality iPod docks.
The PicoForte 1, which will retail for £250 when it launches next month, is a compact dock flanked by a pair of the excellent the KEF 1001 speakers. The 6in speakers are powered by 25W amps which will no doubt fill most rooms with plenty of volume and crystal clear audio.
There’s a slinky credit-card remote control and you can hook it up to an external subwoofer if you really want to drive the neighbours potty.
The design is clean and modern, and the PicoForte 1 will ship in white or glossy black.
It’s certainly a tempting proposition if the retro-iPod looks are not to your liking. A PicoForte 3 system is also coming with bigger speakers and will cost around £400. See it after the jump.-Martin Lynch
