Ferrari might look as if it’s the only car brand with bigger plans but Porsche wants to use its own luxury brand to grab some extra dosh. While Ferrari has been badging stunning high-end speakers and home gyms, Porsche has announced its first mobile phone. The P9521 – not the coolest of names – is cut from slab of magnesium and sports a scratch-resistant, 2.2in OLED glass screen that can rotate 180 degrees. The display resolution is 320 x 240, it boasts Bluetooth and can play MP3s and videos. Some features include:

- Photo/video camera: 3.2 MP, auto-focus camera with flash and digital zoom
- Screen rotates through 180 degrees
- Sensitive touch/fingerprint reader [phone security, calls, menu navigation]
- Dimensions: 91 x 48 x 18.4 mm
- Weight: 140 g
- Charging time: 3 hours
- Communication time: 3 hours 30 minutes talk time/240 hours standby
- MP3 playback: 7 hours
- Phone materials: Mineral glass and aluminium

Due out this autumn it will sport a typically stylish price tag of around £800, making the forthcoming iPhone seem like a damn fine bargain.-Martin Lynch
