Morgan Valentine, better known as best wife ever, ordered a custom-made Optimus Prime cake for her husband's 30th birthday. The cake was made by Nashville's The French Connection, and has dirt, rocks, grass, plants and an Optimus Prime the size of a toddler. I bet the guy even got sex afterwards. [Flickr via Boing Boing]

Getting toast out of your toaster without lighting your fingers (or eyes, if you turn it upside down and shake it like we do) on fire is difficult. With this magnetic toaster tongs, you can reach in grab your toast, then sticking the tongs back on the side of your toaster when you're done. Sure, wooden tongs means they may actually light on fire too, but...uh...whatever! [Shop Catching Fireflies via Damn I Like that via Uber Review]

Billed as an enhanced successor to the ‘world’s best selling digital radio’, the Evoke IS is a tweaked version of the Evoke 1XT [the first sub-£100 DAB radio]. The looks haven’t changed much - which is good - but there’s plenty of other things that have.
There are more station presets [30], FM with RDS support, an OLED display that can be viewed from any angle with a light sensor that adjusts the brightness automatically and an auxiliary input for hooking up an iPod or MiniDisc player. It now also supports the portable ChargePAK battery, for up 24 hours of listening on the move.
PURE Digital claims that it has also upgraded the electronics to make it sound even better than the 1XT. It comes in Cherry [pictured] or Maple and will cost £100 when it ships in September.
That said, the Evoke 1XT was very well-received and with the IS coming, you might be able to pick up a 1XT bargain in the coming weeks. -Martin Lynch

The Nike+iPod Sports Kit is a nice little gadget. The only downside is that you're also asked to fork out for special Nike trainers to slot the sensor in.
At least, that’s what the marketing blurb would have you believe. It’s not very handy for those millions of runners that like to jog off their love handles in Adidas, New Balance, Asics, or other, trainers.
Now, a company called Shoe Pouch has come up with a very simple and cheap solution with its little, you guessed it, Shoe Pouch. Priced at around £3.50 - making it possibly one of the cheapest iPod accessories ever – it’s a small waterproof pouch made from neoprene that houses the Nike+iPod sensor and which has been designed to be laced neatly and securely onto the front of your trainer.

We’ve covered lots of odd and expensive coffee makers here on Gizmodo, most recently the one disguised as a lethal-looking, medieval morningstar.
Today though, we can bring you the world’s most expensive coffee. So exclusive is this bean that it has to be separated from animal dung before it wafts your way. It’s called Kopi luwak, which is Indonesian for ‘coffee’ and ‘civet’.
The civet is a cat-like creature that eats the best coffee cherries, discarding the outside and swallowing the inner hard bean. Once digested they pass through the animal, having much of the caffeine stripped out along the way. The result is a mellow coffee bean, once it’s been separated from the poo, that is.
If that hasn’t turned your stomach already then maybe the price - £300 per pound - will.-Martin Lynch
