Manhunt 2, a game in which two-consenting adults embark on a fulfilling and family-friendly journey through life, wants its ban lifted. OK, that’s not exactly true. Manhunt 2, in which you get to kill and maim just about anyone in brutal and inventive ways with all manner of blunt and sharp implements, wants its UK ban lifted.
Rockstar Games has confirmed that it has launched an appeal against the BBFC ban with Video Appeals Committee to have its ‘artistic’ game cleared for a retail launch.
Rockstar is hoping [desperately] that the ban will be lifted, just like the one on Carmageddon in 1997. However, while Carmageddon was banned because you got points for running over highly-pixellated pedestrians in a car – [ah, the innocence of it all], Manhunt 2 takes gore and violence to a new level and Rockstar has its work cut out for it.
By all accounts, there will have to be some serious re-working of the content and tone if it ever hopes to get a certificate.-Martin Lynch

The ban is total rubbish. What's Manhunt 1's tone? It's still the same tone and context as part 2. You kill people to survive. The BBFC have no grounds what so ever to ban Manhunt 2, and the VAC should see it themselfs. I'll be very shocked if the appeal is dismissed, seeing as the BBFC have passed films which are very graphic in violence, certainly far more realistic than any game could be.
As far as I see it, if they can pass, 9 minute long rape scene's, people's face's being bashed in with a fire extinguisher, and Baise Moi, which is practically a violent porn film and explicit, yet it was passed 18!!!!!
Does anyone see my point here?? Banning Manhunt 2......WTF?
yo otra vez...jojojop
