If you like the idea of cycling but could do without all the huffing and puffing, you may want to check out the Nano Motor Kit, designed to make cycling a breeze.

It’s been around a little while but that doesn’t make it unworthy of mention. The kit is an add-on brushless electric motor system that saves you the trouble of pedalling all of the time. It’s quiet, weighs just 4.8Kg, and can get up to 15mph on the flat, as well as climb inclines.

The range is 25-45 miles [depending on battery] and it’s an ideal for solution for those aiming to be more environmentally friendly, who hate actual cycling, or who are sick of paying the London car tax.

The downside is that at £575, it’s not very friendly on your wallet. The video above shows one fitted to a Brompton folding bike.-Martin Lynch
