We are talking B-movie sci-fi classic material here, with a giant alien lamp poised to zap a terrified elderly couple on a park bench. It’s OK though, because the crinklies are actors and the lamp is a special celebratory edition to celebrate the 70th birthday of the Original 1227 Anglepoise Lamp. And I love it.

It’s up to 2.7m tall and looks like the scary big brother of the hopping Pixar logo lamp. It comes a 100W halogen bulb, casters for easy positioning and a dimmer switch.
