iPod specialist Griffin has decided that wires are so yesterday which is why at IFA 2007 it took the wraps off its new Evolve series of wireless iPod products.

The Evolve wireless speaker system boasts a low-profile dock and a pair of 4in speakers that also recharge when placed back on the dock, thanks to the in-built lithium-ion batteries.

They are good for 10 hours between juice-ups and Griffin claims the range is up to 50 metres. The interesting bit though is that you can add as many speakers to the dock as you like – just put it on the base and it’s configured and synchronised for use automatically.

The basic system is due out in the US first in the coming months but will hit the UK and Europe in early 2008 for less than £200.-Martin Lynch
