Ever tried to chat to someone in the pub with a TV blaring out the latest race from Sandown? Or, maybe, you’d just like the chance to really annoy your family by turning off those soul-destroying soaps without being caught.
Then all you need is £13 and a will to misbehave. Meet TV-B-Gone, a tiny universal remote that sits on your key-ring and claims to be able to turn 'on' or 'off' most makes of telly. It might not have the geek appeal of the Star Trek Phaser Remote Control, but boy, the devious possibilities are endless.
As long as you are within 15 meters of the offending goggle box, the mini remote’s infrared beam will instruct the TV cease and desist. Measuring 6 x 5 x 1.5cm, it needs 3 x Li Coin Cell Batteries [included] to work its magic. I can’t wait for my next visit to Currys.-Martin Lynch

I was really disappointed with mine when i got one a few months ago. It very rarely worked at all. I got it to turn 1 tv off in total. A 10 year old portable tv.
Although i hear that they have released a new version of the device that is a lot quicker and more compatible with new tvs. Fingers crossed.
Whys this popping up here as a news item? Its ancient.
