Door Stop Alarm Gives Burglars A Headache September 19, 2007

door-stop-alarm.jpg Considering five houses on my road got burgled in one night a few weeks back, I can really see the appeal of home security devices. I''ve now upgraded my alarm system with a hurley stick behind every door and bear traps. Are tasers legal?

Anyway, this one is sadly non-lethal, but it is loud and cheap. You just place a couple under the mian doors in the house and when pushed or forced, a 125-decibel alarm sounds. Simple and effective and there's no wires for the more advanced burglar to snip since it runs off batteries.

There's also a movement sensor with different settings just in case anyone tries to tamper with it - that includes you after 10 pints and no keys. Yours for £8 here.-Martin Lynch

Just for info, every one of your last 10 posts or so shows up as from 'Gizmodo UK : First iPod Dock/Speaker With DAB' in Google Reader. Does anybody else see the same problem in Google Reader or is mine corruput in some way?

That's because Gizmodo UK is the UK version of gizmodo.com [US] probably. Your reader is fine I'd say.

murt, It says 'Gizmodo UK : First iPod Dock/Speaker With DAB', not merely 'Gizmodo UK'... the few dozen or so posts certainly are NOT about the first iPod Dock/Speaker With DAB.
