Sony has corrected one of the most noticeable omissions from the first generation of the PS3 controller – force-feedback ‘rumble’.

At yesterday’s Tokyo Game Show 2007, Sony Computer Entertainment group CEO Kaz Hirai confirmed that Sony will be replacing the PS3’s Sixaxis controller with the DualShock 3. The new controller will support motion sensing and the rumble feature, but will look no different from the existing controller.

Some of the games at the show using the rumble controller included Metal Gear Solid 4 and Ratchet & Clank Future. Existing games like Resistance: Fall of Man, MotorStorm and Warhawk are ready to rumble right now, thanks to a software update.

As is now familiar to most gamers, Japan will get the new controller in November while the rest of the world will have to wait until Spring 2008. Jump now for a full list of games that are DualShock 3-ready.-Martin Lynch

MotorStorm, Resistance: Fall of Man and Warhawk, would be compatible with the accessory after a software update. Hit the jump for a list of the games confirmed to support the DualShock 3.
