Creative has gone back to basics with the launch of its latest, vanilla, screen-free MP3 stick, the Muvo T100.
Looking like a first-gen Shuffle, the 2GB or 4GB stick has a USB connector on one end that directly slots into a PC for storing data and music files. It is also used to power the player from your PC. Anything that reduces the cable count is a good thing.
That said, the rechargeable battery is good for around 10 hours playback which is average, at best , from a device this small. It measures 7.75 x 2.5 x 0.9cm and weighs 17.8g.
In the audio department, Creative players tend to be solid performers and there’s a Bass Boost button that promises to add some grunt to your tunes. It’s compatible with MP3, WMA/WMA (DRM9), and Audible Format 2, 3, 4 files.
Clad in black, white, blue, red, yellow and pink, they’ll be out here in time for Christmas and should be cheap enough to fill a few stockings without breaking the bank.- Martin Lynch
