There's nothing like a bit of 'customer demand'. The amount of companies that do things for their customers because of customer [and partner] demand is astounding.

Take Microsoft, which today extended the shelf-life of Windows XP because of, yes, you guessed it, good old customer demand. In the case of XP, it was probably less mannerly than that because existing Windows XP users and sellers of MS software have been hugely unhappy about being pushed to take up Vista, the pretty-looking but hardware-hogging replacement OS.
As a result, OEMs and retailers will be allowed to sell XP for another five months beyond the original cut-off date of January 31, 2008. In the understatement of the month, a Microsoft statement said:
“While we've been pleased with the positive response we've seen and heard from customers using Windows Vista, there are some customers who need a little more time to make the switch to Windows Vista.”

LOL.
I have Windows Vista and XP. And I can 100% honestly say, I prefer XP.
Vista just makes hard work of easy tasks that XP just does.
I installed a PCI network card on Vista and it didn't work, even with the manufacturer's patch. I ended having to buy a 30m network cable to get internet connection on that PC.
Yes I know, 'you shouldav just installed XP'... But my sister says "Vista is prettier"......
Bahh.. Casual PC-users..........
this is just microsoft admiting for once that their new products are sh*t

The day MS make me switch to Vista is the day I buy a Mac!!
