This is James Savage's spare room, which contains one hundred Apple computers. He has more than 150 in his house and all of them are working perfectly, from an Apple II+ and a Lisa to the latest MacBook Pro. When James sent this image in we asked him about his passion—some would say obsession, others medical condition. You can read the full interview after the jump.
Yesterday we covered the new Zune 2 models, new music site and DRM-free downloads and even what the poor old first-gen Zune owners will be getting.
Now though, you can see the 80GB Zune in action here and watch the main features being used. We are not talking the reinvention of the wheel here but, from first looks, the layout and look of the new Zune is a whole lot better the old Zune. I’m sure there’s going to a be a lot of head-to-head comparisons with the iPod Video in the coming days [which I’ll be covering] but this device seems a better offering from Microsoft.
And like I pointed out yesterday, the loyal Zune owners out there already will soon be getting all of the new looks and software features for free.-Martin Lynch
The wires are humming this week with rumours that Sony is planning to introduce a new 40GB PS3 model with a wallet-friendly price of $399 in the US and, so far, a reputed €399 in Europe.
That makes it around £275 which is a lot cheaper than the £399 tag for the 60GB version right now. The new version, according to some leaked Best Buy documents, is also supposed to ship with Spiderman 3 bundled.
That said, it seems almost to good to be true – at least on the price point – but what is for certain is that Sony is planning what it calls a ‘Big Bang’ announcement on October 12. With cut-price Xbox 360s and HD-ready Elite versions and Halo 3 selling up a storm, it could be that Sony – in the run up to the all-important holiday season - will finally be forced to do what everyone has said it should do from Day 1: cut the damn price.
All speculation though at this stage, but it’s good to dream, and with just 8 days to go we'll know soon enough.-Martin Lynch
