Who says that staying in your bedroom all day and swapping a computer for a social life doesn’t pay?

UK student Nick Haley decided to try his hand at making a little amateur ad for iPod Touch and, not long after he threw it up on YouTube, Apple decided to make it official.

The company’s ad agency TBWA/Chiat/Day got in touch with a bemused and disbelieving Haley, flew his stunned ass to LA and remade the ad. Haley said:

“This seemed ridiculous and far-fetched. My initial reaction was, someone wanted to steal it.”

The new one looks a little slicker but retains almost all of the original and the catchy song Haley used, “Music Is My Hot, Hot Sex” by the Brazilian band CSS. The one above is the original and you can hop here for Apple’s tweaked version.-Martin Lynch

I find the choice of song rather ironic, since Microsoft used the exact same song to advertise the Zune.

What a fricken loser, what was he doing making crap fake ads for, that was some quality porn surfing time he missed out on there, wanker(or not)!

It's either that or they were going to sue his ass off.
