If you’re a bloke then you’re probably guilty of having played air guitar at least once in your life. Possibly even once a week.

All that arching and flickering fingers across imaginary frets to Freebird, Sweet Child Of Mine or Stairway to Heaven. I understand.

Now meet something that actually gives you a reason to play air guitar and look just a little less stupid when caught. Air Guitar Pro is essentially just the neck of the guitar, but sports 7 buttons corresponding to actual chords and even 4 buttons on the side to represent types of chord (major, minor) . Your strumming motions are picked up by infra-red. Here’s the sales-pitch:

Built-in Speaker, IN & OUT Media Ports, Volume Controls, Pre-Loaded 10 Songs, etc. The Air Guitar PRO is using Infrared Ray to replace traditional strings. SEVEN Buttons on the Guitar Front NecK from “C, D, E, F, G, A, & B”. FOUR Buttons on the side of the Guitar Neck to represent “Major, Minor, Augmented & Diminished”. You just Press the correct keys and “Swing” your finger below the guitar, Sounds come out. With golf commanding a chunk of this weekend’s sport on TV, its only fitting that we look at the luxury end of the already posh sport at just what the rich and frivolous are driving on the fairway.

They might look like the latest in electric car prototypes, but these babies from Berlinecart, are actually golf carts. Apart from the looks, they come equipped with iPod adapters, Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo units, 15in custom rims, chrome tilt steering columns and fog lights for those dangerous fairway drive-bys with peasant golfers dragging their bags.

The seats are upholstered, there are cup holders and oodles of storage space. Oh yeah, they also fit golf bags. There’s a Cadillac Escalade ESV that can seat 6 and even a custom retro cart – the Smoothster - from legendary car designer Boyd Coddington. The prices start at £8,000.-Martin Lynch
