With golf commanding a chunk of this weekend’s sport on TV, its only fitting that we look at the luxury end of the already posh sport at just what the rich and frivolous are driving on the fairway.
They might look like the latest in electric car prototypes, but these babies from Berlinecart, are actually golf carts. Apart from the looks, they come equipped with iPod adapters, Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo units, 15in custom rims, chrome tilt steering columns and fog lights for those dangerous fairway drive-bys with peasant golfers dragging their bags.
The seats are upholstered, there are cup holders and oodles of storage space. Oh yeah, they also fit golf bags. There’s a Cadillac Escalade ESV that can seat 6 and even a custom retro cart – the Smoothster - from legendary car designer Boyd Coddington. The prices start at £8,000.-Martin Lynch
