So you haven’t been tempted by the iPhone, but you still want something a little different and even harder on your wallet? Then look no further than the latest Nokia 8800 Arte and Sapphire Arte phones.

The Nokia 8800 Arte will arrive in the coming month with an estimated price tag of £705 - before taxes -while the Sapphire Arte is expected at the start of next year and will cost £810. So what exactly, for all that cash, are you getting underneath the sleek metal and glass enclosure?
- Stunning 2.0in QVGA 240x320 pixels, OLED display with up to 16 million colours
- 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera with 8x digital zoom
- 3G capabilities
- 1 GB built in memory space
- MicroUSB all-in-one-connector
- Anti-fingerprint coating on metal and glass
Snazzy features include ‘turn-to-mute’, which allows you to hush up distracting calls by simply turning the phone over, screen-side down, while tapping the metal below the display throws up a good old fashioned analogue clock to show you the time.
They both come in leather, linen-lined pouches while the slightly more expensive Sapphire Arte sports “a genuine sapphire gem stone and an accent of soft leather, creating an even more rich, sensual feel.”-Martin Lynch
