The iPod may be great but it sure as hell gets a whole lot better when you add DAB radio to the mix.
Just a few weeks ago, Roberts produced one of the first DAB add-ons for the iPod with the cute as hell, Robi. Now, DAB specialist, Intempo has released its own solution, the iDAB. Just plug the little device in to the base of the iPod for DAB on the go or, or dock it in your iPod speaker dock for listening to “interference free digital radio” at home.
The iDAB measures less than 40mm square, with Play, Search and Scrolling for stations all controlled by side buttons on the device. A 4-line LCD screen displays information like the radio station or song details and, it can store 10 presets.
“Intempo customers love their music and we are always looking for new ways to enhance their listening experience. Intempo was the first to converge iPod speaker-docks with DAB radio with its RDI and the iDAB continues this trend; being the only DAB accessory currently on the market with dual iPod and dock functionality,” said Katie Richards, Marketing Manager at Intempo.
At £60, it’s £10 more than the Robi but they are slightly different. Still, the more portable DAB add-ons that arrive, the better.-Martin Lynch
