You’d think that a remote control purporting to be the world’s most expensive would at least sport an LCD, but no. Luxury home entertainment maker, Lantic Systems, based in Denmark has just birthed the Gold RC1, a solid gold remote control that bears more than a passing resemblance to a small landmine.
The control was just showcased at the METS 2007 Exhibition in Amsterdam -the world’s biggest marine equipment trade show – which hints that you may want to already own a big damn yacht in order to afford this.
The Gold RC1 sits as the centre of the Lantic Entertainment system and will control TV/video/DVD, music/CD, Internet, email, CCTV, burglary alarm, lights, curtains, air-conditioning and surveillance of navigation systems etc.
All you need is £27,000. Yacht and entertainment system, not included. Insane.
How many gold iPods would you get for that, anyway?-Martin Lynch
