The Festive spirit is notably absent in the ongoing fight over whether or the controversial and banned game Manhunt 2 will be allowed to go on sale in the UK. The BBFC has decided to fight against a recent ruling that overturned its ban.
The game became the first to be banned in a decade by the BBFC in June and, despite losing various appeals, the game’s makers Rockstar Games, was celebrating last week when the Video Appeals Committee (VAC) overturned the ban. I know many gamers were looking forward to some ‘stalk n’slash’ for Christmas but it seems the BBFC is sticking to its machetes.
There was always an option that the BBFC would push the matter further up the legal ladder, and now, it has. It is calling for a judicial review of the VAC’s decision. In a statement, it said:
"The BBFC is contesting the VAC judgement because in the Board's view, it is based on an approach to harm which is an incorrect interpretation of the Video Recordings Act. The VAC judgement, if allowed to stand, would have fundamental implications with regard to all the Board’s decisions, including those turning upon questions of unacceptable levels of violence."
In other words, the game will not be getting any classification until the review is finished.-Martin Lynch

This is just silly now. I am completely neutral in this Manhunt 2 business but there is article after article. Who is the ruling body? Yes or No to the game and if No, what can be done? Edit the game to suit and re-submit, and so on and so forth. Simple. More articles about gizmos please.
