roberts MP41.jpg We’re all used to being able to control or TV viewing thanks to personal video recorders (PVRs) but try exercising that much control over your radio. Not all that easy.

Audio specialists Roberts, thinks its new squawk box is the perfect solution since it comes with an electronic programming guide (EPG) and the ability to record your favourite shows. Clever indeed.

The MP-SOUND 41 is a DAB radio with a difference since it allows you to plan your recordings a week in advance and record up to 8 hours of your favourite shows onto an SD Card. Even better, you can record up to 12 shows at the same time, although I really don’t see anyone needing that depth of functionality. In addition, you can transfer the SD Card content to a PC or laptop for playback and import your MP3s to the radio if you like.

Like regular PVRs, you can pause, rewind, fast-forward, record and playback programmes and tracks from the playlist on the SD card at the touch of a button. The display is also nice and big so you don’t have to do much scrolling.
