The intriguing HTC Shift, a tiny UMPC running Microsoft Vista, is finally set to hit the UK in just 10 days time.

According to the Expansys Web site the HTC Shift will go on sale from Feb 19 with a price tag of £885. Remember, it was due to go on sale last November and in January too.

The ultramobile PC measures just 20.7 x 12.9 x 2.5cm and sports a 7in touchscreen display that can be used in tablet mode or opened out to reveal the Shift’s keyboard for regular use. The Shift runs Vista Business Edition on a low-power Intel 800MHz processor and comes with 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 30GB hard disk drive.

There’s a wealth of communications and connectivity options though with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and support for UMTS, HSDPA, GSM, and EDGE networks.

And let’s not forget that security-conscious fingerprint reader for when you get pissed and leave it in the back of a taxi. Full specs after the jump.-Martin Lynch

even with all its impressive (completely unrealistic) features, the iPhone is still better for one obvious reason...

It runs OS X and not MS Vistard

That 800Mhz will be used up just to display the Start bar in Vista :P Good old M$ only develope OSs for top spec PCs these days . .It may be worth getting to install XP on though . . .or maybe Windows 3.1 ^o)
