What do you do with an unused telephone box these days? That’s right, you them into aquariums. Right?
That’s what those wacky French have been doing in Lyon anyway and to be fair it’s pretty cool. Sitting on a street corner it’s one hell of an attraction and looks a whole sight better than the multi-vandalised box that probably sat there as an eyesore for months.
Designed by Benedetto Bufalino as part of Lyon’s Light Festival, he says:
“With the advent of the mobile telephone, telephone booths lie unused. We rediscover this glass cage transformed into an aquarium, full of exotically coloured fish; an invitation to escape and travel.”
Jump now to see the sexy night time shot. I have to say it’s a novel idea and pretty as a picture, but how long would it last here before some ASBO yobs decided to free the fish?-Martin Lynch
